Learn how to make medicinal plant tinctures with Lauren Kemple (she/her) of Backyard Wildcraft. Lauren is a community herbalist and medicine crafter trained in the Vitalist lineage. Her goal is to inspire people to attend to the land beneath their feet and nurture relationships with plants. Moreover, Lauren leads community plant walks and classes, offers personalized backyard consultations, and works in the apothecary at Oshala farm.

Making your own herbal tinctures (alcohol extracts) is a a great way to preserve your medicinal herbs. For many people, one of the drawbacks of using tinctures are that they tend to be quite expensive. In this class, you will learn how to make your own medicinal plant tinctures. For the same price as a 4-ounce tincture at the store, you will leave this class with a 4-ounce tincture of your own making.  In this workshop, you will gain the skills to continue making these extracts, as well as deepen your relationship with your medicine. We’ll give you several herbs to choose from. You will also have the opportunity to harvest the herbs directly from the ground of Oshala Farm. In this way, your medicine will have the same quality and potency of our celebrated Oshala products!

COST: $45 + $5 materials fee. More details will be provided upon registration.

Registration deadline: Tuesday, September 7th. Pre-registration required.

This class is immediately following a free farm tour of Oshala Farm at 3 pm.  If you would like to attend the farm tour, email info@oshalafarm.com or call 541-846-1120. Farm tour space is limited.

We’re looking forward to seeing you on the farm!
