Basil, Ocimum basilicum ~ The familiar sweet, aromatic, and warming basil, commonly used as a culinary herb. Basil is traditionally used as a carminative, to promote healthy digestion, and to increase appetite as well as therapeutic external applications for beauty and comfort. This is common Mediterranean sweet basil, not Tulsi or Holy Basil.

*Destemmed is the process of removing stems from the plants that we harvest. Destemming provides a more potent material, the properties are not diluted by stems, and dried herbs are more vibrant in color without including stem pieces. Destemming is not a common practice in the herbal industry because there is 21-70% loss in plant volume.
