Anise Hyssop (Agastache foeniculum) is a member of the mint family (Lamiaceae) valued for its aromatic leaves and attractive purple flower spikes. The leaves have a naturally sweet, licorice-like aroma and flavor, making them a popular ingredient in teas, culinary dishes, and herbal blends.
Traditionally used as a flavorful herb, anise hyssop may be enjoyed fresh or dried. The blossoms are also edible and often used as a garnish or to infuse syrups and baked goods. Like many mint-family plants, anise hyssop has a long history of use in herbal preparations, though current uses are primarily culinary and ornamental.
