Tulsi Kapoor, Ocimum x africamum ~ This is the same plant you know and love formally called Holly Basil by US farmers. Farmers have been offering this plant for decades as Holy Basil- Ocimum sanctum but recent lab reports have reveled that this is actually Ocimum x africanum variety, hence the name change. Sweet, fruity, pungent, moving. Calming and uplifting may seem like a contradiction of claims, but Tulsi Kapoor  is believed to both alert and soothe the nervous system through action on the olfactory bulb of the brain when it is inhaled or tasted. Additionally, it is believed to balance aspects of the endocrine system.
