Description
Yarrow, Achillea millefolium ~ Sweet, slightly bitter, aromatic. Traditional uses included promoting circulation and blood purification, and as an astringent and anti-infective. Some herbalists report that it acts as a bug repellent also. Historically it was recognized as a styptic, a blood clotting anti-hemorrhagic agent that works by contracting tissue to seal injured blood vessels. The name ‘Achillea’ refers to the myth of Achilles.
