Oshala Farm is proud to offer certified organic Pedicularis / Indian Warrior.

The harvesting of Pedicularis densiflora is always our marker that the official harvest season has begun.

Harvesting Pedicularis is particularly tricky, as it is one of the few plants that we wildcraft from the back of the farm’s woodlands once a year in the early spring. This medicinal plant is slightly bitter, slightly sweet, grounding, and calming. Western herbalists revere it as a nervine with affinity for the head and neck. Its main folk use was as a skeletal muscle relaxant.* It is an impressive native plant of the Rocky Mountain region and west, but it is not extremely abundant in general. Therefore, we are truly proud to be able to offer certified organic Pedicularis.

Following good wildcrafting guidelines, the health of the plant stand is our top priority. Consequently, there may be some years when we may have limited quantities available. In order to ensure that as many customers as possible have access to this medicinal herb, we have a 4 oz limit per customer. Everyone on the waitlist will be notified when this herb becomes available at the same time by email. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

We want to thank all our customers who submitted their orders early! This year we had so many fresh harvest (non-dried) pre-orders that we had to close the submission period in February to make sure that we could meet the demand. We will begin taking orders again in January 2022. Mark your calendars. We take orders on a first-come-first-serve basis, so get them in early!

Happy Spring, Everyone! The fresh harvests have begun!
